Expansion of health benefits for employees

We recognise that the most important investment we can make is in our employees and we are committed to fostering a work environment that is fair, inclusive and safe; one that promotes and celebrates diversity. Here in Trinidad & Tobago, we were the first in the industry to extend our medical coverage to same-sex partners in April 2021 and in March this year, we added leave for parents who choose to adopt and medical coverage for gestational surrogacy.

LGBT+ ERGs are made up of leaders and employees at Scotiabank. The group's mission is to enable, engage and energize team members around initiatives aimed at creating an inclusive and supportive environment for allies, customers, employees, and LGBT+ communities.

Supporting advancement of human rights for LGBT+ people around the world.

To research, document, defend and advance human rights for LGBT+ people around the world, we’re donating $150,000 CAD over 3 years to Outright Action International.

Supporting LGBT+ youth mentorship in T&T

Over the next three months, we are hosting the first person from Pride TT’s Generation GAP Mentorship programme as an intern within the Marketing & Communications team. Generation GAP is a holistic youth development programme that offers structured character and professional development + mentorship to 30 participants between the ages of 17-25.
