Scotiabank Targeted Bill Payment Promotion Trinidad & Tobago

The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:

·       “Customer(s)” means the Scotiabank Debit Card cardholder who will receive an offer to participate in this promotion.

·       “Promotional Period” refers to the period from March 22, 2021 to JUNE 4, 2021.

·       “Inactive” means the Customer has not logged into the Scotia Caribbean App (Mobile App) and/or Scotia On-line Banking to pay bills for 90 days or                   more.

·        “Active” means the moment at which the Customer uses the Scotiabank debit card to log in to the Scotia Caribbean App (Mobile App) and/or Scotia                  On-line Banking.

·        “Promotion” refers to this competition and not any of the Bank’s other competitions or programs.

·       “Eligible” refers to qualification to receive an offer to participate in this promotion.

·        “Register” refers to customer using his/her Scotiabank Debit Card to sign up and log in the Scotia Caribbean App (Mobile App) and/or Scotia On-line                  Banking for the first time.

·       "Transaction(s)" means any electronic funds transfer made to a bill payee.

·       “Bill payee” refers to the list of entities designated as bill pay merchants available in the Scotia Caribbean App (Mobile App) and/or Scotia On-line                          Banking platforms, as set out in the list below.

·       “Reward” refers to the prize a customer gets when they are selected as a winner in this Promotion.

·        “Account” refers to the suite of savings accounts, payroll accounts, chequing accounts, day to day deposit accounts denominated in Trinidad and                          Tobago dollars.

·       "Scotiabank" or “Bank” means Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited.

“Bill Payments” do not include funds sent to Customers’ transfer recipients.

Only local currency transactions are eligible; no bill payments/ transactions requiring foreign exchange are eligible for this Promotion

 

This Promotion is open to legal residents of Trinidad & Tobago who are 18 years of age or older. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

 

How to Participate/Draw Prize:

During the Promotional Period, Customers in Trinidad and Tobago will receive one (1) entry for every 2 bill payments made as outlined below. There is no limit on the number of entries.

 

·       Customers identified as “Registered but Inactive ” on the Scotia Caribbean App (Mobile App) and/or Scotia On-line Banking who did not make a bill                  payment within a 90 day period will receive one (1) entry for every two (2) transactions made to two (2) separate Bill Payees during the Promotional                      Period

·       Each Eligible transaction must have a minimum value of TT$150.00 each.

·       There will be three (3) monthly draws during the Promotional Period.

·       Each month during the Promotional Period, four hundred (400) Customers who meet the criteria, will be randomly selected to receive a reward.

·       There will be a grand draw at the end of the promotional period where twenty (20) Customers who pay a minimum of two (2) bills every month during                the promotional period, will be randomly selected to receive a Reward.

·       The following actions will not be considered for this Promotion:

  • Transfers between Scotiabank deposit accounts
  • Transfers between Scotiabank chequing accounts
  • Transfers between deposit and chequing accounts or vice versa
  • Transfers to other local banks

Monthly draw examples: Transactions done at least two (2) different merchants.

 

Example 1: If a customer does a total of two (2) Bill Payments in a month as follows:-

1.      TT$135

2.      TT$450

The customer will not receive an entry for the monthly draws.

 

Example 2: If a customer does a total of two (2) Bill Payments in a month as follows:-

1.      TT$150

2.      TT$385

The customer will receive one (1) entry for the monthly draws.

 

Example 3: If a customer does a total of four (4) Bill Payments in a month as follows:-

4.      TT$385

The customer will receive two (2) entries for the monthly draw.

 

Customers who meet the criteria for monthly draws, will be rewarded as outlined in table below.

The draw for the grand prizes will be done on the dates specified, by the Scotiabank TT - Products Teams with assistance from the Scotiabank TT –Finance/Audit team and the allotted number of winners will be randomly selected from an electronic customer database with qualifying entries.  For monthly draws, one hundred (100) entries will be drawn as “back up winners” and for the grand prize draw, five (5) entries will be drawn as “back up winners”.

 

All monthly winners will be rewarded via direct deposit to their chequing or savings account with the description “Scotia Bill Payment Reward” showing under Recent posted transactions in the Scotia Caribbean App and/or On-line Banking and also in customers account statements.

 

Eligibility

·       This Promotion is open to legal residents of Trinidad and Tobago, 18 years of age or older, who hold an eligible Scotiabank personal chequing or savings account with the exception of employees of The Bank, its respective parent companies (The Bank of Nova Scotia and Bank of Nova Scotia Group) and subsidiaries; their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or those living in the same household of any of these employees. Employees of The Bank’s advertising and promotional agencies, as well as their immediate family members, relatives and/or those living in the same households are also not eligible to enter.

 

·       Eligibility is restricted to Scotiabank account holders whose account is still active at the time of the draw, is in good standing and has not been frozen or            closed.

 

·       All eligible transactions will be considered toward the earning of entries; there are no limits on the number of entries. Only transactions in local currency           are eligible.

 

·       Transactions from unauthorized card use or those made with lost, stolen or fraudulent Scotiabank cards will be considered void in the matter of this                    draw. 

 

Grand Prize Draw - Consumer Disclosure / Notification of winners

·       Attempts to notify the selected entrants will be made via email (using the customer(s) email address as found within the Bank’s records) and / or the           telephone number provided by the customer on the Bank’s records; five (5) times within five (5) days from the date of the draw.  Should the Bank be unable to contact/ speak to the selected entrant by telephone within the aforementioned period their eligibility will be voided and another entrant will be drawn from the “back up winners” in their stead (in the order they were selected). After the initial telephone notification, an email will be sent to the selected entrant.

·       The selected entrant will then be required to provide proof of their age and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within five (5) days of the email notification / or telephone contact to be confirmed as a winner. The winner will also be required to provide proof of ownership of the Scotiabank account that was used to win the prize.  National valid ID must also be presented to collect prize. For example, National ID, Passport, and Driver’s License.

·       If the selected entrant declines to fulfill these conditions to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided, and another winner will be drawn from “back up winners” in the order they were selected. All unaccepted prizes will be retained by the Bank.

·       The winners’ name may be published in the media. The winner(s) must agree to the use of his or her name and photographs/ videos featuring their image and likeness without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank or the prize may be forfeited.

·       The winner(s) will be responsible for any taxes, tips, insurance and expenses not explicitly stated as part of their prize  and must agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Bank from and against any or all claims, losses, injuries or damages resulting from participation in the promotion.

·       The use of your eligible Scotiabank debit card to make bill payments constitutes your consent to participate in this Promotion and your consent for The Bank to obtain your name, address and other information for the lawful purpose of administering this Promotion and for other uses as permitted by applicable law.  Scotiabank reserves the right, with consultation and approval from the relevant Gaming Commissions to void any and all entries of an entrant who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest.

·       This Promotion is a limited-time promotion which will run from March 22, 2021 to JUNE 4, 2021 inclusive.

·       A customer’s reward earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Scotiabank account ceases to be an account                holder at any time during the Promotion.

·       Prizes are not transferable and are subject to change, with approval from the relevant National Lotteries Control Board in Trinidad & Tobago) as                            applicable.

·       Prizes must be accepted as awarded.

·       The Bank will not be responsible for changes to the prizes which result from circumstances outside of their control.

·       Scotiabank will issue no representation or warranty in respect of the prize.

 

In all matters relating to this Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects, subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities.

 

Subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities:

·       Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.

·       Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any               time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, the Bank’s decision is final.

 

These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand.
